Steve Epting - Captain America (vol. 5) # 21 cover / Winter Soldier / Blitzkrieg Blitz over London ! Owner: Nelson Animated Ink Comment posted on 10/22/2017 Nelson, you are a trusted friend and I am elated that you have become only the 2nd custodian for this glorious Winter Soldier cover! I purchased this directly from Steve Epting back in 2006, who is a Modern day Master; his stellar work alongside Ed Brubaker on this run is unparalleled and has perfectly defined and cemented the legend of Captain America and his relationship with Bucky. The Winter Soldier mythos is the greatest story to come out of Marvel in the past 30 years! There were only four Winter Soldier covers drawn by Steve up to issue #25 (pre-death of Captain America) so you must feel proud to put this on your mantle! The definitive Captain America storyline for generations to come will always be the Brubaker/Epting run on this title. |

DETECTIVE COMICS #27 BATMAN ART by BOB KANE Owner: Rob Hughes Comment posted on 10/5/2017 Rob, an incredibly significant art piece of the most popular and recognizable character in comics, drawn by his creator! Bob Kane's art is sometimes avoided because its authenticity comes into question quite often, but here is a breathtaking piece that was drawn in front of you, in your own house, by Bob Kane! Its provenance is so secure that this piece is basically priceless and it would qualify as a grail in anyone's collection! |

MOKF # 79 Owner: Nelson Animated Ink Comment posted on 10/1/2017 Nelson, a stellar cover, indeed! MOKF will be on the big screen soon - he will not be denied. He is a very powerful and popular character and should not be on the sidelines too much longer! By the way, this cover looks amazing in color, especially when it was hand colored by a master like Steve Oliff. However, it would also be a great candidate for Robert Dennis to do his magic and remove the color, if you so wish. Robert has done this before with superb results. Congrats again on a great cover! |

Captain America #153 page 18. Art by Sal Buscema and Inks by Jim Mooney Owner: Kevin Elms Comment posted on 3/14/2017 Kevin, a great Captian America page by Sal Buscema. Ps The page is from issue 153 not 158. I used to own this page - I sold it a few years ago. The 3 has a twist so it looks like an 8. Congrats! This page from #153 is from the 1st issue of Hero or Hoax, one of my favorite storylines of the 1970s. |

Adventure Comics #439 Cover: The Spectre by Aparo Owner: My NAME IS LEGION Comment posted on 1/30/2017 Sean, wow, what can we all say? Maybe “we give up” is appropriate! I have been looking for a Spectre cover for what seems like an eternity. Aparo’s pencils during his peak were unparalleled. He is my favorite DC artist of my youth, bar none. As the proud custodian of a complete Spectre story, I can understand the excitement you must be experiencing right now. Congrats on a breathtaking cover by a true master! |

Outlaw Kid Cover Owner: Benno Rothschild Comment posted on 1/13/2017 Benno, a superb cover by a master draftsman! John Severin was one of the greatest inkers and it’s very evident with this example! This is what happens often on the CAF labyrinth - a great cover gets few views and comments over many years. And then the utter and very common dreck that gets posted daily these days gets thousands of views and many comments. It’s kind of sad, actually. CAF should create a rotated highlight page of classic art on a daily basis, great art that was posted back years ago an all but forgotten. The art that we all want to see daily gets lost in the current wasteland of commissions and sketches, which are dumped on CAF every day. |

Kid Colt #221 Owner: Benno Rothschild Comment posted on 1/13/2017 Benno, a stellar Gil Kane example! Gil Kane was one of the top artists in the history of comics. I love his work more than even some of his famous peers, Kirby, Big John, Romita, and Colan. Growing up in the early 70's, it seemed to me that almost every Marvel cover was drawn by this incredible artist! Everything he drew seemed alive and in fluid motion! Congrats on a glorious example of his genius. |

True Secrets #39 (Marvel/Atlas 1956) - Vince Colletta - pencils and inks!!! TWICE UP Owner: Michael One Minute Later Comment posted on 8/7/2016 Mike, congrats on a great cover! Colletta was a great artist in the 1950s, and one of my favorite inkers in the 1970s; I also am the proud owner of one of his masterpiece romance covers which he drew and inked (Atlas/Marvel, Love Romances #46); Of course, he became infamous to some "blog thugs" for his erasing of some backgrounds on Kirby Thor so he can meet the deadlines for submission. His greatness is evident here! In life and in business, I have succeeded because I learned early on "make your own decisions and never, ever, run with the herd". Great addition to your incredible collection! |

MARVEL SPOTLIGHT #33 page 11 DEATHLOK vs DEVIL SLAYER ACTION Buckler ART Janson Inks Owner: Eddie S Comment posted on 6/16/2016 Eddie, this is a stellar acquisition! Devil Slayer is the same character that Rich Buckler created for Atlas/Seaboard comics called Demon Hunter! When Buckler resurrected his creation over at Marvel Comics, he had to rename him as Devil-Slayer! Both Deathlok and Devil-Slayer (aka Demon Hunter) were Rich Buckler's creation and this was a great battle issue between the two! If you ever decide to sell this page, please give me a holler! |

Iron Man #167 Title Page Splash Owner: Jimmy Cawley Comment posted on 6/4/2016 James, this is a powerful splash on many levels. Dennis O'Neil is one of the greatest writers ever, and he did not disappoint with "The Empty Shell" storyline, which began here! Luke McDonnell is a great artist, who had a very memorable artistic run on Iron Man! One can look at that close-up of Tony Stark's hand reaching for the bottle a thousand times, and every time its impact is felt! Classic and historic page, indeed! |

Neal Adams Quintessential 1970s Batman #234 Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 5/1/2016 Rob, an incredible Adams/Giordano Bronze Age masterpiece! I started reading comics in 1972 so my definitive Batman artist was/is Jim Aparo; but nobody can diminish the fact that Adams almost single handedly transformed comics into the acceptable medium they are today - his realistic rendition of the Dark Knight and GL/GA is unparalleled! |

Web Of Spider-Man 45 Owner: Jimmy Cawley Comment posted on 3/7/2016 James, a stunning Spider-Man Web cover by one of the best Spidey artists of the late 80s and early 90s! This cover was one of my Saviuk keepers because it was inked by one of my favorite inkers, Frank Giacoia. But your passion and nostalgia over this cover was so overwhelming and was not to be denied! You burst into comic art collecting with the right perspective and you are hitting the pavement running! As I told you, prudence is required in this hobby because comic art is not a bargain anymore! But when it’s a page that you really “need” on an emotional level, you sometimes have to pounce, you can’t wait because the pain of missing out on it can affect your well-being! First and foremost, this hobby is about nostalgia, and usually it’s the story behind the art which creates its true value! You should always overlook the attraction of “eye candy” art, which is most of today’s crop, for art that was part of a significant or memorable storyline! |

Action Comics #381 Title Page (1969) "The Dictator of Earth" Owner: Ike Wilson Comment posted on 2/21/2016 Ike, a superb Swan Superman splash from a great comic! The cover of this comic was always one of my favorites! George Roussos did some great work over Swan, and this is a great example! I know the "Mob" on the Facebook Swan page trashes George's inks over Swan (one of the reasons I left the group); but I think George inked some great and very memorable issues! |

Swan, Curt & Anderson, Murphy - Superman #242 page 11 Owner: Ray Cuthbert Comment posted on 10/29/2015 Ray, a classic Bronze Age page by the two masters! Great last panel but I wonder how the nurse expects to help the most powerful being in the Universe! Hey, its also sad that a stellar page like this gets no comments in over 10 years, and the current crop of postings get all the superlatives! Sad state of our hobby these days! sigh! |

Swan, Curt & Anderson, Murphy - Superman #242 page 10 Owner: Ray Cuthbert Comment posted on 10/29/2015 Ray, a sweet page from the Swan/Anderson Superman era that will never be replicated by any art team ever again! Good luck trying to put the story back together - I know how tough that can be sometimes! Interesting point - I went into Paul's gallery last week and saw two pages that I wanted, a Buckler Avengers page, which I bought, and ... this one. I was going to go back for this one but then I saw your post. This is great because you have the other pages too so its great when they go to the proper home! |

Silver Surfer #1 Page 1 Splash Owner: Rick Loshiavo Comment posted on 1/12/2015 Rick, a magnificent Silver Surfer Pg 1 splash, even more stunning than its cover! One of the greatest Silver Surfer images ever! JB at his finest! ps I approached Scott Williams back in 2005 for this one, and when he gave me the price i said "Scott, I can put that amount as a down payment on a two family house"; so I walked; It was not a wise decision on my part, in retrospect, because the price would have been quite a bargain today! |
