what if #6 what if the FF had different super powers Owner: Christopher Boyle Comment posted on 1/7/2022 Yet another CLASSIC "What If?" splash from your mighty collection. This story was just so offbeat, and insane, how could any true Marvelite not love it? This is one of those "What If?" tales I wish they had a sequel to. Anyway, this page is a prime example of what this series was all about. |

Keith Pollard - Fantastic Four #200 page 45 Inked by Joe Sinnott Owner: Fred Chamberlain Comment posted on 1/2/2022 To those of you that don't know me, "Fantastic Four"#197-200 ranks within my top 3 favorite FF/ DOOM stories of all-time. Both art & story captivated me as a child, and "STILL" enthralls me as an adult. To say that I've read this storyline a 100 times would be a very conservitive estimate. Most that know me realize what a HUGE Doctor Doom fan I am. And there's nothing quite like an enraged Doom to really hype a particular Fantastic Four tale. And in this epic anniversary issue, Doom really flies off the handle with everyone around him. And even though I usually don't like seeing Doom in defeat, "still" this page truly sparkles. Four (*excuse the pun*) "FANTASTIC" panels of pure artistic greatness. The amazingly "underated" team of Pollard & Sinnott should give any cynic second thoughts to their out-dated opinion(s) of this amazing duo. Being a fan of doom I really have to give hats off to that first panel. However, in careful inspection, it's that 4th panel that really steals the show. All in all, a really cool page from a "classic" "Fantastic Four" issue. "Bravo"! |

Superman vs. Spider-Man page 55 Owner: john kalisz Comment posted on 8/13/2021 Wow; the Web-Slinger slams so hard into the Man Of Steel that Spidey's webbing actually "snaps" in the process. And as most of us already know, Spider-Man's webbing can be stronger than steel cable. One of the things I most like about this page is seeing Spider-Man actually get the upper hand; if only for a short time. Let's face it; if Luthor hadn't hit Spidey with that ray of his, then there wouldn't have been much of a fight. Anyway, congrats on scoring such a classic page from such an historical/ iconic event. Mark my words; long after we're gone, a page like this, will be hanging in a museum that will rival The Louvre in Paris. How's that or a comment? 😉 |

Spider-Man & Firelord by Ron Frenz Owner: Brian G Comment posted on 7/24/2021 I was a previous owner, of this steller piece, some time ago. Although I had to give it up, I'm sure glad to see it went to someone who appreciates as much as I did. (*and still do*) This 2-part battle against Firelord is my favorite on the Ron Frenz's run on the title. I've often said that "Amazing Spider-Man"#269-270 is like a compannion piece to "Amazing Spider-Man"#229-230 where he takes on the Juggernaut. Both stories show Spidey taking on a foe way beyond his means. And in both instances it's not only his unique powers, but Spider-Man's courage, ingenuity, perseverance, and ultimate sense of responsibilty that aid him in winning against such impossible odds. Anyway, a big congrats on winning something so special and iconic. p.s. Don't be me. Don't ever give this up. It's way too special. |

John Buscema Submariner #20 splash Owner: Carlos DS Comment posted on 4/2/2021 From one of my favorite Doctor Doom guest shots. John Romita Amazing Spiderman 55 page 20 Owner: Carlos DS Comment posted on 4/2/2021 Gotta say; if there were just one Romita Sr. "Amazing Spider-Man" page to score, which features the web-slinger, then you can't get much better than this. That, and one of Spidey's greatest villians to boot. "WOW"! p.s. Unless it gets down to selling your own soul, then heed these words of wisdom: "DO NOT SELL THIS PAGE ~ "EVER"! ('nuff said) |

John Byrne FANTASTIC FOUR #278 p1 (1985) Iconic Doctor Doom title splash Owner: Dino Mauricio Comment posted on 11/8/2020 Hey Dino.. Needless to say, I would have loved to have gone for this beauty myself. But simply couldn't afford it at that time. However, I'm not one to covet. That, and I'm always pleased, seeing a masterpiece, like this, going to someone who really does appreciate it as much as I do. Truly, an amazing score, friend. Thanks for sharing & congrats, |

Savage Hulk (Sal Buscema Homage) - Ron Frenz Owner: T Shen Comment posted on 11/8/2020 First thing; "DON'T HAVE THIS INKED"! These pure pencils are killer. I'm familiar with this take on the classic Sal Buscema image. But gotta say, I love how Ron updated it, making it his own. My brother had originally taught me the majesty of pure penciled art. And this piece is so tight & perfect, to have it inked would be like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. I'm very impressed with this one. p.s. If you want this inked, then simply make a copy, of the original, and have that inked. This way the original would remain untainted, and you'd still get both versions. |

Spider-Man (Black Suit) by Ron Frenz and Brett Breeding Owner: Killian Cramers Comment posted on 11/8/2020 When Spider-Man's black symbiote costune, was first introduced, I wasn't too keen with it. But as isssues, and time, went by I really grew to dig it almost as much as the original. (*much like The Black Panther outfit, it's stream-lined, dark, and cool*) Anyway, here's a fine example, you've got here, beautifully illustrated by the multi-talented; Ron Frenz. Thanks for sharing. |

Black Panther #1 variant COVER by Dale Keown Owner: K Gearon Comment posted on 8/6/2020 Well; I'm sure overdue comenting on this little masterpiece. I always loved The Black Panther's design. Just all black to match both his namesake, and the night. Kirby did a great job designing the character. Althogh I'm glad they soon dropped the cape aspact of it. And the Dale Keown cover is truly a masterpiece to this ebduring Marvel superhero. "BRAVO", my friend. This is a score to rival the gods. |

Spider-Man Black and Red costume Ron Frenz Owner: dom masullo Comment posted on 7/10/2020 This piece really knocks me out. Being a fan of both of Spider-Man's costumes, and a longtime fan of Ron Frenz, makes this really stand out. Also, it was done at a convention; rather than commisioned. To me, it makes it all the more personal, and astounding. Cool. |

THING PEREZ Owner: dom masullo Comment posted on 7/10/2020 There isn't a "THING" wrong with this score. (*ouch; that was pretty bad*) But back on track.. "FANTASTIC" interpretation of everyone's favorite FF member. Perez's take on Ben Grimm is spot on. Great pickup, Dom. |

Iron Man 60 cover image Owner: dom masullo Comment posted on 7/10/2020 Wow; this is one dynomite piece. This has been, and always will be, my favorite Iron Man armor design. Web of Spider-Man #32 pg 18 by Mike Zeck (Kraven’s Last Hunt) Owner: K Gearon Comment posted on 1/25/2020 When I think of Mike Zeck's work, during the 1980s, three classic storylines come to mind, standing the test of time; 1) "The Punisher" mini-series 2) "Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars" 3) "Kraven's Last Hunt" (*not specifically in this order*) And here you have a beautiful page out of the big three. Amazing shots of Spider-Man, along with Kraven's men, getting a little too over- comfident on Spidey's physical condition. Truly; one of the greatest Spider-Man tales ever told. Thanks for sharing the greatness.. ;) |

Spiderman Venom Randy Emberlin Owner: Michael Kenyon Comment posted on 11/23/2019 Wow; this is really cool. Randy Emberlin did much of the inking in Amazing Spider-Man over Erik Larson's pencils. And Randy certainly stands on his own merits. Especially when seeing this super neat Spidey vs. Venom original art. In my mind I've always felt that the top three Spider-Man villians are (*in this order*): 1) Green Goblin 2) Doc Ock 3) Venom Being as such, a true collector of Spider-Man original art really needs to have at least one of these top three vilians in one's collection. And you certainly made the grade with this worthy piece, Michael. Congrats, and thanks for sharing the greatness.. ;)

JOHN ROMITA AMAZING SPIDERMAN Owner: Michael Kenyon Comment posted on 6/25/2019 Although original comic art is the usual norm here, there are certain exceptions to the rule. Take this "classic" Spider-Man poster for instance. Almost half a century old, and done by Spidey's definitive artist; "Jazzy" John Romita Sr. During my child- hood, "Spider-Man: A Rockomic", was played to death. Not only was there a great story. Not only was there great art. Not only was there great voice actors. Not only were there great new songs (*cheesy, as they may be* ;) But there was even this magnificent poster which was taken directly from the LP cover itself. I still have mine, but was never able to frame it properly. Leave it to you, Michael, showing us all how it's done. Truth be told, I have my old LP cover recently framed. But simply can not stop there until the poster, like yours, is framed as well. Blast it; it still looks too cool. Thanks for the jolt of inspiration, Mike. p.s. One of the songs, on the album, is entitled; "It's Such A Groove To Be Free". I'm a little embarrased to say I still remember all the lyrics. And no; it isn't because I now have the LP burned on a CD. And hey; the song can still tug at the ol' heart strings. "SHEESH".. :( |

Charles Vess Amazing Spiderman 1985 Black Costume Owner: Michael Kenyon Comment posted on 5/31/2019 "Wow"; coming from a lifelong Spider-Man fan, this piece really blows me away. Charles Vess is one of those rare artists that are impossible to score a piece of art with. One of my personal favorite all-time Spider-Man covers is "Web Of Spider-Man" no#1. And yes, it was created by the brilliant Mr. Vess. After reading your back story, concerning that Charles Vess Spider-Man page you were cheated out on, Mike, I'm sure glad to see you finally scoring a Vess piece, and what a awesome piece of art it is. Many might say this was Karma. As for myself, I'd rather call it "Devine intervention". In any event, congrats on a beautiful rendering, and sharing it with the rest of us beggers.. :) p.s. And in the words of the immortal, Stan Lee; 'nuff said.. ;) |

REMEMBERING MARIE SEVERIN; A REAL LADY, & A INCREDIBLE ARTIST Owner: Daniel C. Comment posted on 9/20/2018
Michael Kenyon said:
I was disheartened by the lack of tributes to one of our very best comic artists. I met Msarie on a few occassions including this convention in 96 which i believe was the SDCC?. Marie was all heart and if you weren't a fan before meeting her, I promise you she had you're undying loyalty afterwards. Marie RIP and like Daniel says Heaven is richer for your presence. Daniel the drawing is magnificent and you're moving tribute top notch. If you don't mind I elect you to eulogize any future giants that pass from this life to the next. We consume with great enthusiasm their blood swaet and tears poured out on the comic page. Sadly we fall short when it comes time to say thank you and goodbye. I'd like to think we're all too grief stricken to respond. Either way I like many of you will miss that smile and the wondeful unique style of art. ![]() Hey Michael; Thanks for the kind words concerning Marie. Back in the day around 1997, I remember standing at a comic art booth, going through some pages. Just then I pull out an "over-sized' page from "Tales To Astonish"# 92. The entire page featured Bruce Banner transforing into The Hulk. The art was rendered magnifigantly by Marie Severin. And the price tag read $850.00. Yes; a mere paltry amount by today's standards, but alot to me at the time. In addition, I was still reletively new to the original comic art scene, still testing the waters. Also, my main focus, at the time, were set upon Spider-Man & Doctor Doom art. Still; whenever I think of that amazing Hulk page, I almost have to kick myself for passing it by. It sure was (*is*) a dandy, and I just love the way Marie drew The Hulk. Yes; Marie Severin was a true master of this medium, and an incredible human being. She won't soon be forgotten. My biggest regret, more than not picking up that gorgeous Hulk page, was not meeting Marie Severin just one last time. What an angel she was. |

IRONMAN DOOM BOB LAYTON SCOTT WILLIAMS 1987 Owner: Michael Kenyon Comment posted on 2/17/2018
One of the greatest Dr. Doom stories, of all-time, came out of "Iron Man" #149-150. Without a doubt, one Marvel's finest ever created. Obviously, this "masterpiece" was done as a homage to those classic issues. This also stands as my personal favorite Iron Man armor design. (*no school like old school*) Anyway, a mighty Happy Birthday to you, Mike. I'd say this was the icing on the cake.. ;) |

The Amazing Spider-Man #362 page 16. Mark Bagley (Pencils) & Randy Emberlin (inks) Owner: Pepe Caldelas Comment posted on 6/12/2015 Being more old school, there was a time when I wasn't really a fan of Mark Bagley's style of art. However, through the years I have really come to appreciate this Spider-Man artist more and more. Mark's really come into his own. And a masterpiece of an art page, such as this one, truly blows me away. We're always so used to seeing Spidey battling the insane Venom. But to have a page where they team up, fighting a greater evil side by side, is a sight to behold. This is an awesome page of perfect power & symmetry. That, and a Spider-Man art collection just isn't complete without a Venom page. Eddie Brock definitely ranks in the top three greatest Spider-Man foes ever created. Thanks for sharing. |

Spidey by Mike Mayhew Owner: Damon Wright Comment posted on 5/30/2015 That's what I like to hear; "frame and display with pride". Although I have nothing of Mike Mayhew, the man's amazing talent hasn't escaped my notice. I see his style of art as a cross between Bob Larkin and Joe Jusko. And yet, he transcends to another level all his own. You made an incredible choice here. Spider-Man never looked more perfect. Thanks for sharing. |
