That's a pretty baller page to throw down at year's end! I bought this run off the racks at nine years old, and I still remember the specialness of it. Wood's particular imagination put the series at a slight angle to the main MU, which seemed apt for a series about a villain. 

Man, McWilliams put a slick finish on this. That shadow work in panel two is gorgeous.

You're right, this page has a lot of Kirby greatness. You really feel Jack's combat experience in his staging of the ape soldiers in panel one. Kamandi's desparation is palpable in 2-4: Kirby was THE master of body language. I also like the brutality of this war-torn world-- "beat him if he struggles" --and Kamandi's species prejudice in panel 4. Kamandi's unwarranted pride in being human is one of his great character traits throughout the series.

What an inventive panel layout here! And it works perfectly. Love this page!

Almost missed the unit, and thus the oppotunity to figure out the exact pose of DM. What a joy this piece is.

Something very pure about this page, with it's four symetrical panels atop that chaos of blades at the bottom. Kirby's prose, as well, is gorgeous and far-ranging. The king, in full control, at the top of his game. Superb. Incidentally, this page was once owned by the conceptual artist Steve Roden (RIP), a very discerning Kirby collector. So you did good!

That's an absolutely classic Hulk panel 4--you couldn't ask for better. And like you said, seeing the Kirby script in the margins is priceless. Your pic is a little blurry, but I can read enough of them to see examples of what Stan brought to the table in his final script. For example, Kirby has the soldiers yelling "Duck!" as the Hulk hurtles toward them in panel 2, but Stan moves the "Duck!" to panel 3 after the Hulk has already bounced off, perhaps to suggest the slow reaction time of the soldiers? I'm not sure, but you can't deny the Marvel Magic!

Kirby casually creating three full-blown characters for a momentary scene. Della the Dinosaur maybe not his best work, but I'd love to know more about Mad Merkin and Little Bullets! Even Della probably has a surprisingly good reason for the name...

It's the banter for me... never gets old.

Original run Metron pages are tough, tough, tough to find. This sequence is pretty damn quintessential for the character. Nice, nice pickup.

Oh. My. God. I pored over this story as a budding artist. Funny I never thought to wonder where the OA was. It's like it existed somewhere on a higher plane, to be viewed in the next life. What an absolutely massive score. I salute you, sir. Well done.

The Bernie Batman has a special place in Bat-history. Those few panels in ST 7 sparked a LOT of imaginations. Love this!

I guess Woggon needed those assistants to hold the giant pot of ink required for this spooktacular page!

This is terrific. Just a straightforward bust, but all of Jack's compositional ability is on display, making our eyes bounce all over the page, reading all the balloons, taking in all the telling details and lush textures of the character--one of a long line of Jack's grizzled veterans. Classic page.

Congrats! This is a terrific page with pure Kirby sense of wonder in every panel. You've probably noticed the difference in text from the published version in panel three. That was a Gerry Conway rewrite. Dollars to doughnuts there's a different line for Dr. Canus in panel three, under the paste-up--something along the lines of "Look, what's that!?" 

Tremendous! I'm in love with the four question mark balloons in the last panel and the body language throughout.
