THE AVENGERS #93 PG 13 BY NEAL ADAMS & TOM PALMER Owner: Fernando Arteaga Comment posted on 12/4/2014 I'm not going to even try and say anything clever. This is just a great page. Neal did some of his best work on the Avengers. That sequence is one I so remember and love. Terrific piece for your collection. |

Daredevil 92, page 26 Owner: Lee Benaka Comment posted on 1/9/2014 Lee, Lee, Lee, what a fantastic page. Always loved that last panel, especially as that is actually the Panther. Well, if I can't have it at least I know it's in good hands. |

Daredevil #91, page 10 Owner: Sean Clarke Comment posted on 12/18/2013 If it is actually possible to use the word 'love' in conjunction with an object, then I LOVE this page. If you decide you don't need it, if something else comes along to replace it in your affection, if you get the Colan/Everett Widow pages and you don't want such a lovely page to suffer for lack of affection, I will happily welcome it into my heart. |

Avengers # 97 page 9 Owner: Michel Maillot Comment posted on 9/1/2011 Okay, you can quit collecting now. Really. What else is there to get? If it wasn't me who got that page (and it wasn't) it couldn't have gone to a better guy. Congrats! |

Tomb of Dracula (1972) #44, pg.30 Owner: Miguel Marques Comment posted on 10/26/2010 Glad this is such a special page for you. Makes it easier for me having sold it. Finding that special page from your youth is what this hobby is all about. And I'm glad you reprinted my words from the auction about the final panel being used for the cover and splash of Dr. Strange #14 - that was the element that really attracted me to the page, and made it stand out for me. This was one of my favorite crossovers from the 70's, and re-reading the comics as an adult, I still love it! |

Sub-Mariner 8 Cover Owner: David Mandel Comment posted on 8/28/2010 Sometimes it's the simplest layouts (Fantastic Four 112, Kings Size Avengers #2 - and this issue) that are the most memorable and spectacular. |

Doctor Strange #16 Page 26 Owner: Kevin Stawieray Comment posted on 8/28/2010 I always like the faces Gene drew - and that look of awareness on Strange's face is priceless. A thoughtful series like this was perfect for his style. |

Dr. Strange #15, pg. 16 Owner: christian stoklas Comment posted on 8/28/2010 A lot of ink poured on this page. I love the contemplative images of Strange - indicative of the tone of the entire series. |

Dracula Lives! #8 pg. 26 Owner: My NAME IS LEGION Comment posted on 8/28/2010 Though I'm not a fan of Ernie's inks over Gene's pencils, I have to make an exception this time. And panels 2 and 3 are terrific. |

Daredevil 95, page 5 Owner: Lee Benaka Comment posted on 5/13/2010 Good job, Lee. That's such a terrific page. I once told Gene he did such a great job drawing San Francisco that I could use his comics as a city map. This page was one of those images I had in mind. |

Fantastic Four #115, Cover Owner: Ron S Comment posted on 12/16/2009 Covers like this make me miss the old style of cover art - incorporating the story elements rather than creating more of a movie poster image. This is from my third favorite story arc in the Lee/Buscema run on the book. Terrific pickup. Congrats. |

Captain Marvel #23, Cover Owner: Ron S Comment posted on 12/16/2009 Joe Sinnott's inking irked some people. John Buscema felt it 'smoothed' out the roughness of his figures, which he felt was integral to how he depicted the human form in motion. But on some, Kirby notably, and as is obvious in this cover, with Kane, his inks were an enhancement. Like Dan Adkins who also worked magic with Gil's work, Joe's inking clarified and gave solidity to Gil's figures. This is a terrific cover, chiefly because it employs so much of what made Gil a great cover art - the figures that seem constantly in motion, the layout that captures the eye, and the sheer quality of work from a man whose career stretched from comic's early days, up to, if only in memory, the present. |

Giant Size Conan 02 p24 Owner: Fredo Le Comment posted on 10/29/2009 Though I'm an avowed fan of Buscema's Conan over anyone else's I have to say that Gil's art was probably better suited to Conan than to the superheroes he did, and it makes me wish he did more of the Conan stories (with Sutton or Adkins inking). Still, we all have quite a wealth of Conan covers to contend ourselves with. |

Daredevil (1964) #80, pg. 2 Owner: Miguel Marques Comment posted on 10/29/2009 I'm with you on the 'quiet pages'. Very often artists like Gene did their very best not on the knock down battle pages, but on pages like this. You've got the evolution from Matt Murdock to Daredevil all on one page - and let's not forget the wonder Palmer inking. |

|
Doctor Strange (1968) #175, pg. 14 Owner: Miguel Marques Comment posted on 10/29/2009 'Inspiring' is correct. This piece is just great. The image of Dr. Strange is posed, as you stated, so iconically. And the flow of the panels thereafter have that cinematic fluidity Gene always stove for. Good pick up! |

TARZAN 4 Buscema Owner: Ramon B. Comment posted on 10/29/2009 I was about to comment with 'possibly the best Tarzan cover John ever did', but it seems everyone has beat me to it. John did animals as well as he drew men, and a battle between man and animal, as done by John, was a symphony. |

Savage Sword of Conan 16 Page 20 Owner: Black Adler Comment posted on 10/29/2009 I used to own that page (and the sketch page that went with it), and was always impressed with what a cinematic approach John took to this story. You're definitely right about Alfredo's inking. It gave those Conan stories such a classic look. |

Daredevil 78, page 2 Owner: Lars Teglbjaerg Comment posted on 6/26/2006 If anyone loves this page as much as you do, it's me. It's such a shame that modern comics are not as good as they once were. Gene again shows how he could make a page with no real action so exciting. |

Avengers #51 cover Owner: Bill Woo Comment posted on 3/4/2006 I simply love John's Goliath. I have a page of his Avengers art in my gallery depicting the character, and I'd have to say John was the first artist that really gave me a sense that Goliath was actually supposed to be tall. It was the way John often drew the character stooped when he was around normal sized beings. This cover is just an exciting piece of art. |

John Buscema & Alfredo Alcala - Savage Sword of Conan 15 pg 30 (1976) Owner: pierreux G Comment posted on 3/1/2006 Some of Alfredo's most lush inking. Terrific action on this page as well. |

Fantastic Four 105, page 23 (Volume 1) Owner: COL (Ret) Churchill Comment posted on 3/1/2006 A terrific page! I sold it about 3 years ago and I'm still kicking myself over it! Romita really did a good job on his short run on the FF. |

Conan #91, p. 7 Owner: Alex C Comment posted on 3/1/2006 A terrific page that sums up the "Queen of the Black Coast" storyline as far as I'm concerned. John had the best pacing in the business. |

Daredevil 87, page 2 Owner: Lars Teglbjaerg Comment posted on 2/14/2006 Gene did these quiet, human moments with characters almost better than he did action scenes. This page is just a great representational work of Gene's overall skills. I can't believe I had the page that follows this and sold it. What was I thinking? |
