This looks fabulous. Joe, understandably given the generation he was from, created very nice textures due to being primarily a brush inker. Such a great, old school look to the finishes. Kudos on the fine addition, Lee. ![]() Thanks Ruben. It was my first exposure to Joe's inks and I agree regarding his technique and quality of his embelishing. |

Awesome mid 70's Kubert War cover! It's amazing how many ways Joe Kubert can design a cover that grabs attention and fills you with anguish to pick up the issue. ![]() I think most of it has to do with where Kubert places the reader's POV. We are always being surrounded, or being discovered, or in some difficult to get out of jam. |

GI Combat #208 using a stolen Nazi armored vehicle as a battering ram by ER Cruz Owner: Lee P Comment posted on 2/8/2025
Ian Saint said:
Dynamic and detailed. Such an awesome artist and first time I have seen the name. Love it! ![]() Yea, ER Cruz was one of the artists that came in a flood of Phillipino artists that DC hired in the 70s to save money. There has always been such talent coming from over there and I have a real appreciation for that early group of Pioneers. There are a lot of representations of there work on my CAF page. Chan, Alcala, Talaoc, Redondo, Marcos and probably a few more. |

I particularly how he composed the N-bomb explosion panel in triangle, explosion in one triangle and the people in the other. ![]() Interesting observation Peter.
