It is a good read, no matter what Ruben says. :) Kamandi pages are some of the Kirby art that is not so out of reach. There is a lot of it but it has been getting more expensive gradually.

Peter you are really great at pointing out the artistic decisions that artists make to create a more interesting composition.

I think most of it has to do with where Kubert places the reader's POV. We are always being surrounded, or being discovered, or in some difficult to get out of jam.

Howard tends to denigrate much of his early work, but I think this piece is really great and he did not have anything negative to say about it when I had hime sign it last year.

Yea, ER Cruz was one of the artists that came in a flood of Phillipino artists that DC hired in the 70s to save money. There has always been such talent coming from over there and I have a real appreciation for that early group of Pioneers. There are a lot of representations of there work on my CAF page. Chan, Alcala, Talaoc, Redondo, Marcos and probably a few more.

Interesting observation Peter. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Sometimes these subtle methods are what makes a piece of art interesting, subliminaly influencing our decisions.

He really was a good artist and his work spreads out over 40+ years. I have other Kirby 4th world characters and a Kamandi Challenge #1 page that he pencilled in 2017.

I clicked on this page because I thought it was FranK Robbins art, but pleasantly surprised to see a splash by Brown and Giella with the sentiment that has been echoed for decades about Robin.

Always loved this comic. Another iconic concept that stands the test of time from the King.

As usual Mike Perkins over-delivers with a highly detailed moody page. This crime noir Batman tale feels and looks like it came right out of the pulp period. That bottom panel is glorious!
