Easily one of my all-time favorite PPSSM covers. I remember being a kid and seeing this on the stands and begging to get a copy. Some images just stick with you. This is one of them. Congrats!

Just look at that...my goodness....I can see Bernie in mind mind, hunched over this page layering line after line of perfect inks in the perfect place until a plain white piece of Bristol becomes a thing of everlasting beauty. 

What a great page !  That CRUNNCHH! Is everything that's great about this era of comics and artwork.

His prelims are better than 90% of other artist's final versions. Love this.

I was crushed to hear this. Such a great guy, immense talent and someone who really cared about other people. Just tragic. 

I was just reading the social media post by his family. How tragic. He had a big heart, and really wanted to help others. He will be missed. 

Back into therapy I go. At least I have something new to talk about.

Holy cow...you are not messing around, great cover, great story, great write up. 

Bolland with hole punches in this size, especially on Camelot 3000 characters, likely indicate they're pre-publication style guide/character studies. So, you're right. 

I know it. My max bid was around double where it ended. I was very pleasantly surprised at that as it's very rare these days to get something for less than you're willing to pay. 

For sure, I was surprised but he mentioned this binder of pieces right away and mentioned the one he did with Merlin and a rubber chicken and a few others. Sounds like he used it quite a bit while working on the series so it burned the memories a little deeper. 

Great storytelling here. So smooth and effective. Love this era of X-men

This piece is "BIG" in a lot of ways.  Truly memorable. I remember this issue being a really big deal at the time. Great addition. 

This has to be so kick-ass in person...GIANT THANOS, so cool and such a great era and title for these characters.

I love it when an artist is rewarded for hanging onto their creations. Not only is this a premiere page from a premiere issue, it's still in your possession, which is a beautiful thing to see.

Nowlan is a modern master, and vastly influential on all his peers and all that followed. This piece is tremendous!

Woof!  The Silver Age of Marvel had some of the greatest talent on teh planet firing on all cylinders. This page is a great example of the underrated Marie Severin just KILLING it. 

Look at this fricken page! The fact that this story survived this long as a complete entity is only surpassed by the fact that it was acquired by someone committed to having it remain so. It's pure goddamn magic. Look at that second panel. Come on now!

"The Mindless Ones" Silver Age Mastery or Commentary on present day collecting trends? It's for YOU TO DECIDE TRUE BELIEVERS. 

This piece, however, is pure GOLD...no matter what era it's from. Marie Severin bringing the GOODS and The Ron knowing to bring it home. 

Someday I am going to have 10% of the eye you have for artwork. I hope I am on the spry side of senility when it happens so I can enjoy it for a moment before the fog of age and infirmity takes me.

Cho is an underrated master of all he undertakes. I just wish I'd bought MORE of his art when he was starting out!! He's tremendous.

Pope brought something new and distinct and special to the Dark Knight and, given how many artists have worked on this character and tried and failed to do exactly that....this is something truly special.. Pope on Batman is epic.
