I was beginning to think I'd never get a chance to add a John Byrne X-Men cover to my collection. Seems like they're mostly locked away in permanent collections. But, here I am, adding not only a John Byrne X-Men cover, but his FIRST X-Men cover! How cool is that? And what a cover it is--An action-packed, no-holds-barred battle featuring the entire X-Men team fighting Magneto inside his secret base hidden within an volcano in Antarctica. And to make it worse, the Volcano is collapsing on top of them! If you like explosive battle scenes, this is definitely it. Packed with an extraordinary amount of detail, it's a feast for the eyes. It's also one of the few Byrne covers that actually include the entire X-Men team--Storm, Cyclops, Phoenix (Jean Grey), Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Banshee. IMHO, it's both an historic and epic cover and I'm super-excited to add it to my collection.
