Description

This magnificent 1938 Sunday is sublimely colored by the master Herriman, and if that wasn't enough, it was gifted to Gilbert Seldes, the author of the hugely influential 1920s book titled 'the Seven Lively Arts' which singled out comics strips in general and Krazy Kat in particular as popular culture that was worthy of critical appreciation. Also published in Patrick McDonnell's notable book 'Krazy Kat the art of George Herriman'. Great content, prescient topic of television in 1938!! Brick gag too! Plus all three major characters, plus the jail, plus a great surreal 'onstage' closer! It's really a privilege to own one of these.
