DescriptionThis is page 4 of the classic parody titled "Julius Caesar" which appeared in Mad # 17. I have long-wanted a true vintage Wally Wood penciled and inked page for my collection, but the market for his classic stuff was beyond my reach. The only way I could see obtaining a 1950's pure Wally Wood example would be via trade. Once again, I have to extend my most sincere gratitude to Paul Handler for agreeing to a trade that netted me this incredible page!This pretty much checks all of the boxes for me... terrific detail, great use of heavy blank inks, some cool zip-a-tone effects, and even a pretty Wally Wood lady! Add in that it has appearances by Trick Dacy and Shermlock Shomes along with a "Potrzebie" word balloon and it's just about a perfect Mad comic book page that I am thrilled to be the caretaker of!
