DescriptionThis is page 46A from the book, first published by Glènat, "Les Vacances de Donald", a fully painted effort by the Italian Disney artist Federico Bertolucci.Federico developed for this book a stunning coloring technique, using different types of colors (gouache, watercolor, etc.), that looks incredible on the original page. When I first saw the printed book, I thought it was achieved with digital colors. Oh boy, was I wrong. There's a strong "classic cartoon" vibe in the story, emphasized by the lack of text or balloons (the entire story is visually told), and the gorgeous colors also contribute to that. This splash page is just jaw-dropping... it makes you feel you're in Duckburg in the 50s, it looks like a perfect frame of a classic cartoon.
