Last week, in honour of the release of the new Superman film, I posted a cool page from this annual featuring Superman and Guy Gardner clashing in a battle of wills, rather than brawn. That page was acquired within the past year or so and it was great to acquire it because it fit in perfectly with this page I'm posting today, which happens to be the follow up page to the one I posted last week and shows the immediate aftermath of the aforementioned battle of wills, with Guy acting like the ever insufferable, petulant child we all love to hate. On top of that, the page offers cameo appearances by some of the big guns members of the Justice League as a nice bonus!

As I mentioned in last week's post, Denis Rodier inked the early part of the story, and Doug Hazlewood, Brad Vancata and Carlos Garzon also contributed inks after that. But aside from Garzon (who never had a particularly distinctive or recognizable inking style), all of the contributing inkers worked on this issue very early in their careers. The page has the look of early Hazlewood, but I just don't feel 100% certain. Either way, the inks look very complimentary over Grummett's pencils, himself only a few years into his career, and it comes from a very fun Annual, so I'm stoked to have it in my collection.
