Description

When I commission a new Common Elements artwork, I rarely offer any direction to the artist beyond the names of the characters and reference images. I know that many of my fellow commission collectors think I'm insane for leaving that much at the artist's discretion. But this piece illustrates the reason -- or, at least, one of the reasons -- why I take the approach I take: I would never come up with a scenario as stunning as this.

Not only did Ethan Young envision this battle between our trio of night warriors -- Nighthawk, Nightwing, and Night Girl -- and the dread Cthulhu, he also executed it to perfection in less than a week. (Your mileage may vary.)
