Sal Buscema, Incredible Hulk 300 page 37

Sal Buscema, Gerry Talaoc, and others The Incredible Hulk #300 Story Page 37 Original Art (Marvel, 1984). Doctor Strange intercedes in the battle between a rampaging Hulk and the Mighty Avengers from the special oversized 300th issue. Buscema provided the layouts, with art assists by Alan Kupperberg and Danny Bulanadi, and Gerry Talaoc finishes. Ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15"

Never a big hulk fan as a kid. Felt that the character lacked, character. I read this book and felt sympathy and it was quite moving at the time.
Seeing the anguish behind the anger in his face... this page speaks to me.

I recently wrote about my love for the Buscema/Talaoc combo in my gallery. This is a great page, especially the Hulk in the last panel.

Buscema/Talaoc was a great pairing. They both knew how to make something dark, gritty and emotional, as you can see here, and their styles meshed so well. Great page! Congrats!

The panels seem simple, but each one pushes the story forward. Mantlo and Sal were great on the Hulk, and you got a page from one of their best issues. Congrats!
