DescriptionThis was the highlight of all of my trips to San Diego. As a Neal Adams fan from the 80's, it's a great accomplishment to get a personally drawn sketch from Neal Adams. I found out on Thursday 07/23/09 that Neal Adams was drawing commissions, so approached him about doing one. He was available and I was able to sit down with him, talk and watch him pencil then ink this drawing. I provided him with a photo reference for the character's positioning. I requested The Black Canary (having been a fan of his Green Lantern / Green Arrow stories in the 70's) since I wanted a female character and not a masked super heroine since the detailing of his artwork on the facial features, the lips, eyes and hair are always visually stunning. This was a great character to get, and if you compare the photo (shown in the scan) and the artwork by Neal Adams, it's well executed. This drawing of The Black Canary also can kind of look like Sarah Michelle Gellar "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" too! So, I figured to put it in my Buffy art gallery.Social/Sharing |
