Mr. Abernathy, Come a Knock on My Door

Mr. Abernathy (1957-CA 1994) was a popular lightweight gag-a-day strip that played on the tycoon stereotype. Judging from the pieces I've seen lately, Abernathy spent most of his time chasing women. It was originally by writer Bud Jones and artist Frank Ridgeway and by Ridgeway alone from 1983. When Ridgeway died in 1994, the strip soon went with him. This strip is typical.
