Description

Artist Khoi Pham recently held a sale of his original comic art, and I scooped up four pages at great prices. I managed to snag a couple of pages from the excellent Daredevil series written by Mark Waid.

This page features the title character's alter ego Matt Murdock making his way through New York City. Pham's sketchy approach, especially in the lower third of page, is interesting given the level of detail it manages to convey despite the looseness of the linework. He also seems to convey the hustle and bustle of the city as well as a grimy quality.

I find it interesting to compare Pham's work on these Daredevil pages to that in the Incredible Hulk/Hercules pages I picked up from him as well. The Herc pages are much tighter. There's a few years separating the two projects, and despite the differences, his distinct style still comes through.
