Description

One of the many great Hanna-Barbera classics to seep into my childhood psyche was the Jetsons. And as a rule, if the cartoon wasn't ABOUT animals, then it included an anthropomorphic-based animal. For the Jetsons, it was ASTRO the dog.

In case anyone is thinking that I loaded this image upside down, that isn't true. The cel number and peg holes indicate that Astro was upside down in this scene.

The original series comprised 24 episodes and aired on Sunday nights on ABC beginning September 23, 1962, with primetime reruns continuing through September 8, 1963. At the time of its debut, it was the first program ever to be broadcast in color on ABC-TV.
