DescriptionThe Inkwell Awards -- the nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of comic book inkers -- auctioned off a series of these Black Panther pieces. The legendary Joltin' Joe Sinnott, for whom the Inkwells' top award is named, penciled the original artwork. Blueline scans of the art went to several pro inkers, each of whom embellished over the bluelines in his own style. The inked pages were then returned to Mr. Sinnott, who hand-signed each one in the bottom margin.This piece, marked on the reverse as #4 in the series, was inked by Le Beau Underwood. I actually bid on several of these, but happened to win this one. It was fun to see how different inkers approached the project. I hope others will post to CAF the versions they purchased, so that viewers can compare. Social/Sharing |
