DescriptionMany, many moons ago, back in the late 80s, I gave Jack Davis a call. He was still living in New York at the time and he was the nicest guy to talk with. At the end of the conversation, he asked for my mailing address and said that he would send me a drawing, but nothing ever arrived. A few years later, in 1990, I had picked up a copy of The Art of Jack Davis and decided to mail it to him. I reminded him of our conversation and asked if the statute of limitations on my request for a drawing had run out. He sent back this wonderful drawing with an inscription that still mystifies me to this day. Davis, was and is one of most incredible cartoonists/illustrators around. The man can draw anything in anyway at any time! Sheer brilliance!Social/Sharing |

This is great! Jack was a kind and gentle soul - and one
heck of an illustrator!
