Description

I've long felt that Bill Mauldin had some sort of an influence on Jack Davis' work. You look at Davis war work at EC, and the brushwork shares quite a bit with Mauldin's WWII work on Up Front, with Willie and Joe. So I decided to write to Mr. Davis, to see if he was indeed influenced by Mauldin. He certainly answered the question emphatically, and added a neat little self-caricature to boot! One of the true greats in the field.
