Description
First sorry to a few people who I let down as had to do a mad 14 page trade to get this page. So sorry Mark and Jock .Those pages were part of the trade otherwise would not have got this.

Cannot believe I have this .I got the prelim for Bolland's part of the cover and thought I never would have this. One trade later with Dale who is a real 2000ad fan and its here in Dublin. Thanks Dale. I really enjoyed the chat on the phone while sorting this out. This page has everything I like about Brians work artistically and is also very funny. One of my top ten Bolland pages but did not let Dale know that!!

Nice page! I was just reading about in The Art of Brian Bolland yesterday! I would have loved to read the uncensored dialog...

This is the uncensored version.A more polite censored  version was printed in an annual  several years later. This however was never printed in the comic. This and a hilarious page about plagiarism by Mike McMahon were too much for the editor and publisher.

Certainly a very lovely page. Bolland's work is just so clean and crisp, isn't it. And these pages from the 500th Prog make me chuckle as well. Surprised they allowed them, really!

I recently reread prog 500 and this was not printed in it due to  censorship.Same as what happened to the funny Mc Mahon Dredd bloodsuckers page.

I don't think you could ask for a better Bolland page than this...Dark Judges, Dredd, Hershey, Anderson, Joker, Tharg and the artist himself. Great to know that there's other great 2000AD pages residing in sunny Dublin!

Any Bolland Dredd page is a thing of beauty and this page is a real piece of 2000ad history. Fantastic!

Wonderful page Peter. Full of all the key characters and spiced with Bolland's dry humour.

Classic Art!  That bottom panel is awesome and belongs in whatever opus is written about Bolland

This is beautiful, and of course quite comical, which makes it a special treat as we get a glimpse of Mr. Bolland's quite wondeful personality. Haven't really looked at a Bolland page in awhile, and almost forgot how amazing they are with literally thousands of little brush and pen marks all over, but not a single one out of place. Congratulations on a really unique piece of comics history.

This really is an amazing page. And I, personally, would like to acquire a Judge Dredd toilet seat.

Hi. I've been reading up on this recently as I wasn't aware of the other artists banned strips.

I have actually noticed one odd thing about Bollands page, though. Yours is the original, but I've seen another recently without the 'Try reprinting this!' banner across it, which also shows Dredds Lawgiver in its boot holster. I know the holster appears to be on yours, but the top section and grip are not.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Wonder if its from the censored version they reprinted in the annual? They fiddled around with it a bit by removing and changing some art. I have all the annuals up in my attic, which is so chock a block with stuff that I probably will never read it again. The McMahon one that was never reprinted is hilarious  as it was mocking tracing in comics by other artists who were still working for 2000ad at the time.
