Description

One of the strongest scenes in Andrei Tarkovskij's "Stalker" movie and a character that we immediately associate with Disney comic book Master Giovan Battista Carpi, a crow-like figure that performed either as Yanez in "Sandopaper e la perla di Labuan" and "Le due Tigri" or Javert in "Les Misérables" Disney parody (and one of Carpi's masterpieces) "Il mistero dei candelabri".
A character that, even though only in a supporting role, managed to steal attention from the most well-known characters (such as Donald Duck and Scrooge).
A character that I always loved.

Can you imagine my surprise when I opened the package and finally had the chance to see the illustration?

Also, the picture is truly a work of art, so well balanced, and you perceive a perfection that seems impossible, sensitivity, and poetry that are distinctive characteristics of both Carpi and Tarkovskij.

Incredibly powerful, allegorical, this is, so far, maybe the brightest gem among these Hybrids.

Just amazing.

Also included, in the additional images, are the prelims (where it seems the first idea was to homage Tarkovskij's "Solaris") that clearly show how the idea developed and a magnificent color version (always by Alberto).

I couldn't agree more! A challenging and amazing concept masterfully executed, the brushwork (ink and black varnish) is just incredible. The scan cannot fully express the utter beauty of this piece.
