DescriptionPicked up this piece from Mike (More Great Art) and Ed at Fan Expo Dallas this past May. They had a lot of nice stuff but this DPS really stood out to me – it’s just a great illustration by both penciller and inker. I like the layout and the multiple Nova images that convey movement. He’s sort of effortlessly blasting through the Chitauri…and doing it with a smile! Also got a huge image of the warship (straight out of the Avengers film) coming right at the reader. The inking detail is awesome, particularly on the warship, which looks great against the outer space background.I’m not a big Nova fan – I mostly picked up the storyline because it was EdEx on a new character. I have to say I think it’s some of their best work. The characters look great, there’s lots of energy, solid storytelling, and it just feels plain fun. Ed said he was surprised how much he liked working on it. Marvel actually previewed the book with an image of the penciled version of this piece, as well as included it as additional content for the first TPB volume, so I’ve attached that as well. Hope y’all like, and thanks, Ed and Mike! Social/Sharing |

This new Nova is a nice character and McGuinnes pour a lot of love in it. This DPS is really really good. Great pick!

Loved Ed and Dex's art on this series, even if I didn't read it. The art really stands out and, wow, those dark blacks really make the figures pop. Congrats on this piece and thanks for choosing this and leaving the Hulk splash for me! Congrats!

Sweet DPS! Lots of action and another great space scene. The space battle whale looks incredible as well. Love the detail.
