DescriptionI met Sean through a mutual friend when he visited Japan a couple of years ago to attend the International Comic Book Festival in Tokyo. While he was here, I watched him work on a Superman story he was doing for one of DC's online comic. A lot of the finished product was accomplished through digital effects, at which he is a wizard, but, at the heart of his art, was a simple but very stylistic animation-like design.You can see that quality in his version of Kitty Pryde, which he said was done for a Marvel card set. The look is a bit of a mixture of the young and playful character of my youth and the older version she morphed into in later years. I really liked the classic uniform and how he utilized her phasing powers. I missed grabbing it the first time we met, but it was still there when he made it back for a second visit this year and I found I was still taken with the piece (coffee stains and all).
