Description

Mike Royer inks over a penciled pin-up of Galactus by Jack Kirby (note I do not own the original pencils - even though would love to...).

Mike Royer is said to have been the most faithful among the inkers of Jack Kirby, and is certainly associated with some of his best production in the '70s.

Waiting to find the perfect Kirby Royer OA, I thought a recreation would be the next best thing. I picked this popular Galactus pin-up, dated 1969. I think Kirby in the late '60s to the mid '70s achieved his peak in terms of style. This pin-up has it all: galactic character, weird and mysterious machinery, Kirby crackles, Marvel mythos. To see it rendered by the super sharp inks of Royer is a real pleasure.
