Avengers-Squadron Supreme '98 page 18 by Carlos Pacheco

A very nice action page from the Avengers/Squadron Supreme '98 annual which featured some of Carlos’ best work in my opinion. Probably due to his well-known love for the Squadron Supreme which stars in this story.

It was published around the same time as Avengers Forever even though I suspect it may have been drawn before as an inventory story. This story may be less fondly remembered than AF (I suspect the variety of inkers inking this one may have a hand in that as well as it always hurts consistency) but the quality of the art is excellent.

I love the splashy feel of that page thanks to the first panel which is radiating with Kirby crackle :)

The following layout Carlos chose is excellent as it underlines the speed and chaos of the sequence. Hawkeye is a character Carlos obviously loves as well and that third panel with him drawing an arrow is simply perfect.
