Tailspin Tommy (1937)original daily comic strip art
India ink on heavyweight paper, art image size 6.75" x 26.25" on 7.75" x 29" sheet

This is the original final art by Hal Forrest for the Tailspin Tommy daily comic strip #2986 titled "Panic!" that was published in newspapers in 1937. Tommy and Skeeter are pilots of an airliner and Betty Lou is the stewardess; in this episode the cockpit door is opened and they are found to be unconscious and feared dead.

Hal Forrest created the popular aviation-adventure comic strip in 1928 and continued it through its 14-year run until 1942. This original is signed "Hal Forrest" by the artist in the last panel. Bell Syndicate label is on the back and copyright notice is in the last panel.
