Description

Although this is primarily a gag strip which does little to further the Blondie narrative of its day, this is an excellent example of Alex Raymond's work on the strip. It is also a rare example of Mrs. Bumstead expressing approval for the relationship between Dagwod and Blondie. The image from the first panel was later used in Blondie reprint books as an illustration on chapter dividers -- or, stripped of all that verbiage, it's one of the best images Raymond ever drew of Blondie and Dagwood's love and happiness when others allowed them to make their own choices. Gosh, that was pretty verbose too -- whatever...I really love this original for the Raymond art.
