Blondie Daily Strip 25 Dec 1931, First Blondie Christmas Daily

This is first of very few Blondie originals with a Christmas theme. Chic Young realized early on that a strip with international readers should avoid holidays that were not celebrated by much of the world, including Christmas. He therefore made his later strips holiday-neutral. This example is not only one of the rare strips with a Christmas theme, it also is the first Christmas strip which actually appeared on a Christmas day. It has all the major characters that were in the strip at the time, including Blondie, her mother, a destitute Dagwood, and both of his parents. Aside from a very few of the Hunger Strike dailies and the first daily strip original, this is probably my favorite Blondie original -- which means its about my fourth or fifth favorite (which is certainly more than anyone needs or wants to know).
