Description

1st of 3 Green Lantern (GL) postings tonight. Here we've got John Stewart in battle with some Black Lanterns. This issue was part of the Blackest Night storyline running through the GL books at the time. John's having a rough go here, but when he gets his wits about him and his will cemented, he busts out ready to rumble! Click one page to the left to see what happens next.

I actually picked up the complete story in this issue via Comiclink auction a few years back. I may post them all at some point but these 2 are my favorite. Really like Benes's storytelling in this one particularly. Pinned down in the 2nd panel, then zoom in on the eyes to convey the determination, then a zoom out right after to great effect. You could make a case that John has the strongest will of all the GLs and I thought this issue and page showed some of that. DC All Access must've thought similarly - they ranked it as #5 of their top 10 GL moments! Check it out on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/06G127ZWEtA
