Description

Another piece of the Demons' Trilogy (you can see in my gallery Lavoradori's rendition of The Saint of Killers), this is a tribute to both Jack Kirby and one of his many creations, Etrigan, as known as The Demon.

Both hero and antihero, he's is a demon from Hell (bound to the human Jason Blood) who, despite his violent tendencies, usually finds himself allied with the forces of good.

I always found him a character with enormous visual power, even though I think very few artists, after Kirby, seemed to be able to channel it. Alberto is surely one of these very few.

This illustration is highly powerful and dynamic, as in the best works of the King.
The pencil work (see additional images) already showed pure raw power, then Alberto further added even more dramatic force with inks and the result, I believe, is pure beauty.

Also included in the additional images a digitally colored version by Lavoradori himself.
