Art by Dominador "Hal" Santiago (2009 | Page #82)

Purchased on the last day of Komikon 2016 from Dominador "Hal" Santiago, an award-winning Filipino illustrator and writer in the field of Philippine comics.

I was drawn to this large piece as it has the writer's conceptualization of the scene. Mr. Santiago also did an amazing job bringing the scene to life.

The writer wrote:

"2. INSIDE PAGE ILLUSTRATION (A): Full shot. Inside a cave (furnished with a cot and a side table with a lamp) with a light, curtain-like waterfall dropping gently down the cave wall and emptying into a tiny pool near the foot of the cot. A boulder (as big as the seat of an easy chair) located between the cot and the edge of the pool. Ariel, (CLAD IN WHITE T-SHIRT AND DENIMS PANTS, WEARING MOCCASIN SHOES) standing, touching the air with his forefinger, mystical light radiating from it, expanding in the air. Vera (in the mold of Catherine Zeta-Jones or Penelope Cruz), naked except for a towel wrapped around her body, knelt on the cave floor, swooning in the holy ecstasy released by the mystical light. For page 82."

Lastly, Mr. Santiago was not able to give me the specifics of this page other than it was published and available over at Amazon.com.
