DescriptionThe traditional team-ups between the Justice League and the Justice Society reached a cosmic high point in 1980 when they also joined the New Gods in an adventure on Apokolips.Darkseid had been presumed destroyed, but returned here with the aid of Injustice Society members Shade, Fiddler, and Icicle. Here, he takes a moment to reflect on how his experience has changed his priorities--almost--as he rededicates himself to the the cause of tyranny and anti-life. It's a chilling moment that stayed with me when I first read it as a kid, so I'm especially thrilled to have it in my OA collection. Interestingly, the page is numbered in the art itself as Page 6 (lower right corner) but is noted as page 8 in the tape marking in the top margin; it all depends on whether you're counting story pages or including ad pages. Note the blue line note "See Len!" to the caption in the first panel to confirm the citation to Adventure Comics #460. (That it is written on corrective tape seems to imply that it was erroneous in the original lettering.) And in the last panel, note that the Fiddler's fiddle may have been a separate addition to the art. At the very least, you do wonder where the body of the instrument is.
