Description

I've been a fan of Frank Cho and been following his work, since Liberty Meadows.

This illustration was created by Cho to be used as print as a Hero Initiative fundraiser in conjunction with "Howard the Duck" co-creator, writer Steve Gerber.

The prints (see additional images) were limited to 500 pieces and were supposed to be hand-signed by both Frank Cho and Steve Gerber. Sadly, the prints arrived on Feb 11, 2008, while Steve Gerber passed away on Feb 10.

Howard the Duck is a fictional character in the Marvel universe, an ill-tempered, anthropomorphic "funny animal" trapped on a human-dominated Earth, first appeared in Adventure into Fear #19 (cover-dated Dec. 1973) and later the protagonist in several series as well as a film adaptation in 1986.

Cho is famous mostly for his humor and beautiful women, so no surprise here where a magnificent Beverly Switzler, companion and sometime girlfriend to Howard the Duck, is stealing the scene posing, in a bikini, like the Statue of Liberty and holding an armed, gun and blade, Howard up.
Truly a "statuesque" beauty.

Congrats on this beautiful piece, Fabio! I agree it's very representative of Cho's art and style, especially his Liberty Meadows period.
