I didn't know that Marvel Cover Prelims of that vintage had their own 'format' - pretty cool to see yet another slice of the process! Like Color Guides, there must not have been a lot of them that have survived to the present. Do you have any stories about these pieces to share?

Ed once told me that he only started caring about keeping his sketches when he went over to DC. He believes that there may be a lot of Marvel prelims are out there in the hands of artists who worked off a sketch and never returned it. Sadly, Ed tells me that many of them were simply thrown away. Ed worked on so many of these and many of them he just doesn't remember what he was thinking when he drew it. I never specifically asked about the Roms.
