Tony Sandoval - Watersnakes Page

Boy, this page. As soon as I saw it posted for sale, it grabbed me. There is something so odd and wonderful about this page. There's an Edward Gorey sort-of-vibe about it, supported by this oh-so-delicate watercolor work and subtle patterning underneath the watercolors. The first and fourth panels grabbed me, but it was the second panel that made me buy it. I laughed at loud when I saw that panel, and it still brings a smile to my face. Simply wonderful stuff.

ADDENDUM: I finally got my English-edition copy of Watersnakes, so it's nice to have the fully context of the page. This page takes place soon after Agnes turns into a ghost, one that only her brother (in her family) can hear. Mila (with the dark hair) is the only one that can see and hear Agnes. Such beautiful work.
