This is the first published art I've bought. I've been tempted by some published pieces before, and even lost a couple eBay auctions trying to purchase some. But when I saw this cover posted for sale, I knew that I had to have it and quickly locked it down. I am a huge Legion of Super-Heroes fan, so getting a Legion cover is a big deal for me. And it features art from Tom Feister and Tony Harris, two artists whose work I love. I really dig the pose here and I wish that the published cover had not been cropped, but the closeup works. Anywho, I love that I actually own a Legion cover now and I can't thank Malvin V enough for a smooth transaction!

If you like this piece, then go buy some books featuring Tom's art. Then, go buy some books featuring Tony's work.

It never occured to me that this cover was only a piece of the drawing. It was more effective that way. I wonder who made the call to cut it down.

I asked them about that on Twitter and Tom said: "Not sure, but if I had to guess, we were probably running late, and it was faster to crop in and focus on coloring the close up. Looking at it now, I'm still pretty happy with how that drawing came out. I wish I had a time-machine to recolor that face though. That was a fun gig."
