Description

Love Buscema's Silver/Bronze romance work. While I can't image that Big John really enjoyed drawing these stories--given how he always talked about preferring Conan over super-heroes or just about anything else--you wouldn't know it from the work, which is always exquisite. This splash is slickly inked by Don Heck, who also knew a thing or two about drawing beautiful women. Note that Heck (I assume) give himself a personalized signature in the credits box, different than Stan's and Buscema's--an interesting little touch. Published in 1970.

This was basically lifted straight from one of John's Conan books: He had two loves of his own--me, and battling hordes of insane Mongol warriors.

She is so delicate and so beautiful. John could have easily done fashion illustration.
