Description

Here's one that our friendly neighborhood UPS man delivered a few days ago. Artist Harold Delay was based in the Chicago area for many years, and the bulk of his pulp illustrations are for two Chicago-based pulps, Weird Tales and Golden Fleece. He also did a lot of work for Golden Fleece's much more successful sister publication, 10 Story Book. This one is a preliminary of the opening double-page spread for Conan author Robert E. Howard's "Black Vulmea's Vengeance", which appeared in the November 1938 issue of Golden Fleece.
