I loved this commission before and I love it even more thanks to these superior digital colors by the amazing Simon Gough.

This drawing fills an important gap in my faux 'Marvel Two in One' team up scenario pairing the ever-lovin' Thing with John Carter Warlord of Mars and Werewolf By Night. Back in 2007, Ernie Chan did a wonderful two-page commission for me that included a million different concepts and characters from various parts of the Marvel universe. Smack dab in the center of Ernie's alien battlefield was Kamo Tharn's molten creature (who appeared way back in Champions # 13) rising out of the ocean to menace our heroes.

After many years and many commissions, I'd never gone back to expand on the molten creature's role in my made up storyline. I'd had such great success with other commissions from Eric Koda that it became a no-brainer to ask what he could do with this battle at sea. As ever, Eric came through in high style.
