Description

I have always liked the Swan/Adams busts of the Legionnaires along the sides of SUPERBOY #147, but I was never all that wild about the central image. I also have always loved the Swan/Anderson central image to the LEGION ARCHIVES Volume 1.

A mash-up seemed the way to put those two eggs in the same basket. Bruce then added the element of the lettering "Featuring The Legion of Super-Heroes!" from Adventure #247 to balance the piece at the bottom. A stunning example of three great original talents (Swan, Adams and Anderson) re-imagined by a fourth great talent, Bruce McCorkindale!

Pen, brush and ink on 13 X 20" bristol board.
