Thank you Foggy Bottom! The scan shows some purple highlights, but they really show on the original painting making it pop even more.

Gorgeous! That faint city background, the swirl of bats/cape in the light...outstanding! Fine art, indeed!

Thanks for noticing that Damon! Dan also did the box art for the latest Blade Runner movie and you can see all the cityscape work done on that one also.

Appreciate your comments Vit! My wife and I always try to find pieces that seem fresh to us. She is not a big Batman person either, so finding pieces that are different help with our collecting.

Wow! This one is fantastic! I love the way Batman is seemingly rising from the ground of Gotham as a mystic creature with his cape swirling around him as he takes form. The cityscape and the bat signal in the background are also nice touches to create the atmosphere and the mood without taking anything away from the central star. The ultimate fantasy Batman scene!

Thanks again Daryl! Dan did seem to touch on all aspects of the character, but made it his own. The painting pops even more with a nice coat of gloss varnish and the purple highlights. I was waiting for this one for quite a while.

Thank you Alex! That is so true! It took me a couple of times to finally see the cityscape behind and also the bat signal. I was looking too much at Batman.

Thank you T Shen! I find it cool that you can appreciate the painting without being a Batman collector. Sometimes it is just about the concept and execution and not the subject.

This might be one of the greatest covers I've ever seen. Nice work securing it....not sure who this Jim Lee is though. :)
