Bill Wenzel's LADY GODIVA for Playboy

I’ve been a Bill Wenzel fan since forever. During his career, he sold thousands of cartoons, gracing books and magazines with his distinctive artwork. The author of COFFEE, TEA OR ME? credited Wenzel’s art for helping to make the title a bestseller.

Many of Wenzel’s illustrations were done on paper or thin board. This was created on 11” x 15” heavy board and came to me with an 8 ½” x 11” prelim. The board is marked as APPROVED 10/21/70 by RUND, as in "Robert Rund" an art editor/art director at Playboy during that period. The signature matches Rund's signature on other Playboy cartoons that have come up for auction. If you find yourself reading an issue of Playboy (for the articles, of course) and come across the cartoon, please let me know.
