Karate Kid by Derec Donovan

Derec Donovan has drawn Karate Kid a few times for me, but I still wanted a solo commission of Val Armorr for this series. So, I asked Derec to draw Val in his rarely seen fan-designed costume. This outfit was designed by Charles Tyson, and appeared in two published issues. I do like the pure black and white look of it, but the karate chop hand on the chest is a little silly. But hey, I love silly! Derec of course delivered an awesome commission here with Val delivering a flying kick right at the viewer! I also dig Derec's use of shadows and the look on Val's face.
