Description

Latest arrival: All-Star Squadron #94, art by Stephen Baskerville. As with all of my 'continuation' commissions, it's based on the cover of a comic written, plotted or scripted by Roy Thomas, in this case Infinity Inc #15 (by Todd McFarlane and Tony DeZuniga).

Story: In the previous issue, a Sees-All/Tells-All News cameraman filmed Uncle Sam committing sabotage (probably the experimental tank which Dr Fate had saved from the Black Dragon Society in All-Star Comics #12 / All-Star Squadron #30) and, despite protestations of innocence from his fellow Washington-based heroes, members of the Squadron were sent to detain Uncle Sam and anyone who aided him.

In this issue - the second part of "Uncle Sam - Traitor!" - Green Lantern and Firebrand track him down, as well as Phantom Lady, Human Bomb, Ray, Doll Man and Black Condor. After a confrontation, the Freedom Fighters are arrested and taken prisoner, pending their trial!

I think Stephen did a great job on this one, and I'm genuinely surprised by how well this early McFarlane cover worked. Hope you agree!
