Nice to meet you, Mr. Barks, may I present to you my Money Bin!

In 1991-1996 Iiro Viinanen was Finnish Minister of Finance. The early 1990s depression in Finland was one of the worst economic crises in Finland's history, even worse there than the depression of the 1930s. Mr. Viinanen had really tough times then as the Minister of Finance when taking care of state treasury. Now here as "Uncle Scrooge" for sure he wasn't presenting his Lucky Dime, but the only dime!
If wondering where is the "real" Uncle Scrooge, please check what Uncle Carl is carrying ;-)

This nice homage for Carl Barks was first time published in June 1994, just some days before Barks' visit in Finland. It was published in local provincial Finnish newspapers Tamperelainen, Valkeakosken Sanomat, and in circa 40 other newspapers.
It was also published in Helsingin Sanomat 19.6.1994 when a whole page article reported Barks' visit in Visavuori.

I was more than happy when heard I could acquire this artwork, It was the perfect match into my collection once I collected then ambitiously Carl's and Kari's artwork.
Stated there: "Matille 16.6.94 muistoksi Barks-käynnistä Visavuoressa" = "For Matti 16.6.94, as commemorative, from Barks' visit in Visavuori"

The cartoon has been published also in "Sellaista sattuu", 1996, ISBN 951-0-20468-4
