"One Thousand Springs" by Lioba Brueckner

As you may recall I already own Lioba Brueckner’s wonderful painting “Visions” which I purchased from Alexi Era gallery’s relocation Kickstarter. I’ve always felt bad that I didn’t actually support Lioba when I purchased that piece so when she mentioned that there was an opening for her Illustration tier on her Patreon I jumped at the opportunity to have her do a Kimono Girl. We had a fantastic conversation about art and decided that we should go for a larger piece and just spread the Patreon pledge over time until it was paid for. I love doing pieces like that since I don’t have to pay for it all at once. Lioba had a couple of ideas for the piece and we decided to go more along the lines of what she had created for “Visions”. She sent a couple mockups and we went from there.

The beautiful “One Thousand Springs” is what she came up with. The piece is simply wonderful as is all of Lioba’s work. The Kimono Girl is cute with her freckled face and lovely expression. I love the abstraction with the paint runs and the mountains in the background. The details on the Kimono are outstanding. The patterns and colors just work so well together. The black really makes those details pop and draws your eye in to further investigate. The butterflies and cherry blossoms just complete the piece. Another amazing Kimono Girl for the collection by a truly wonderful artist.

It was such a pleasure commissioning this piece from Lioba. She made the whole process fun and I enjoyed sharing my collection with her which she was very excited to be a part of. Getting to interact with the artists is why I commission pieces like I do. You just don’t get that wonderful experience by purchasing a piece from a gallery. I am so glad I decided to support this lovely lady.
