Karate Kid vs. Ninjak by Ryan Bodenheim

I first saw Ryan Bodenheim's art many years ago in a couple issues of Black Panther. His art was impressive then, but a few years later when I read A Red Mass For Mars, I was blown away at how much Ryan's art had improved and evolved. I have continued to follow Ryan's work, and he continues to impress, most recently on his issue of The Immortal Hulk. Anyway, I really wanted a commission from Ryan and we finally made one happen this year. For the opponent, I gave Ryan a few options and he went with Ninjak, who he has drawn many times for Valiant. And the Ryan delivered this gorgeous piece! First off, the characters look fantastic. I love Karate Kid's hair, and that crosshatching on his costume is awesome. And Ninjak looks fierce, with some great lighting effects on his outfit. And on top of that, Ryan added some beautiful colors which show the conflict as much as the characters do. Big thanks to Ryan for knocking this one out of the park!

Val Armorr is the master of every martial art known in the DC Universe up to the 31st Century, including ones he has learned from alien species. But Colin King is not from the DC Universe, and he is one the sneakiest guys around, and he is always loaded with gadgets and tricks to overcome his opponents. So what I'm saying is that Karate Kid better be on his toes, or Ninjak will take him out with something underhanded and unexpected.

Dynamic poses for sure but what really stands out to me is that coloring! Love the purple and yellow hues! Congrats!
