Description

The finale to Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men run.

The Giant Wild Sentinel sacrifices itself by getting in the path of the Breakworld Bullet in an attempt to save Earth. The Earth is in view in the last panel, with Kitty hitching a ride inside of the bullet. The Wild Sentinel was added digitally in the first panel.

One of my favorite X-Men runs, and one of my favorite moments in comics. I'm pretty thrilled to find a page from this scene.
