I first started reading Peter Panzerfaust while on a train from Amsterdam to Paris in 2014, coincidentally, the characters in the story were making their way between those two cities as well. But that wasn’t the only thing that endeared me to the story, I’m a sucker for anything WW II related, and this was a masterful interweaving between that war and the classic Pater Pan story. Tyler Jenkins’ art sealed my love for it. While reading the issues, as I reached the middle section of the series, and instantly fell in love with the cover to issue #13. It was beautiful, and as I was about to learn, also tragic when you look at the symbolism in relation to how the story ends for the characters. “Time tears all lovers apart” is the simple message. This was not only used as the cover for issue 13, but was also turned into a limited edition art print. In 2014, not only was I woefully unable to afford a piece like this, it never actually showed up on Tyler’s dealer’s website. I assumed it had been sold already, but lo and behold, it popped up on ComiConArt’s eBay site, and I knew I had to have it. A last second bid made that dream come true.
